2. In the search box, key in 'command', and don't hit ENTER just yet.
3. Press and hold CTRL and Shift buttons together, then hit ENTER.
4. A permission box will appear, just click Yes.
5. Type this command: regsvr32 /u OpenAL32.dll, then hit ENTER. This will now 'un-register' the file.
6. Then key in this command: regsvr32 /i OpenAL32.dll, then hit ENTER. This will now 're-register' the file.
7. Close the window, and then re-start the program that you just have fixed.
Step 2: Check and Correct Errors in Registry Entries
There will be times when OpenAL32.dll and other system errors are related to the problems in the Windows registry. Since different programs share the same OpenAL32.dll file, there is a great chance that when these programs are changed, or uninstalled, DLL registry entries will be left out.

12. Then click Save.
Notice that the file will be saved with a .regfile extension. The backup file is now successfully saved for future use.
Step 3: Remove or Restore OpenAL32.dll from the Windows Recycle Bin
Again, in case that the OpenAL32.dll was unintentionally deleted, check first if it is in the Recycle Bin.
1. Search for the Recycle Bin icon, and then double-click.
2. Key in and search for OpenAL32.dll at the upper right corner.
3. Select and move it to the following:
a. Windows 95/98/Me = C:WindowsSystem32
b. Windows NT/2000 = C:WindowsSystem32
c. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 = C:WindowsSystem32
d. 64-bit Windows = C:WindowsSystem32
4. When done, restart the computer.
Step 4: Scan for Malware Issues
Another possible error of an OpenAL32.dll file could come from malware problems on the computer. These malware issues can bring permanent damage, may delete, or delete related files.

Step 7: Uninstall then Reinstall LXFDVD144
The following are the instructions taken for Windows 8:
1. Place the cursor at the bottom left part of the screen to see the Start Menu option.
2. Then right-click and it will show the Start Context Menu
3. Select the Programs, and then Features.
4. Search for the OpenAL32.dll-related program, for example, LXFDVD144, from the Name column.
5. Then click Uninstall or Change
6. Follow the rest of the directions prompted on the screen to complete the process.
After uninstalling the OpenAL32.dll-related program such as LXFDVD144, simply re-install the program according to the Future Publishing instructions.
Step 8: System File Checker might be the answer
The System File Checker allows scanning of files and restores them if needed.
Here's how to use the System File Checker:
1. To begin, click the start button.
2. In the search box, key in 'command', and don't hit ENTER just yet.
3. Press and hold CTRL and Shift buttons together, then hit ENTER.
4. A permission box will appear, just click Yes.
5. A black box will appear, with a blinking cursor.
6. Key in 'sfc/scannow' then hit ENTER.

7. The System File Checker will begin to scan for system file problems, and it may take a while.
8. Follow the rest of the instructions prompted on the screen to complete the process.
Step 9: Check and Install Available Windows Update
The problem may be resolved by updating the Windows. And here's how to check for, or process the Windows update:
1. To begin, click the start button.
2. In the search box, key in 'update' and then hit ENTER.
3. A dialog box will prompt to the Windows update
4. Then click Install Updates.
Step 10: Reinstallation of Windows
This is considered to be the last and final option in fixing the OpenAL32.dll issues. Because the re-installing of Windows will erase everything.
